| No abortion, unless medically necessary or the result of rape or incest, should be paid for by tax- payer dollars. Parents are legally and morally obligated to ensure the health and well being of their children until they reach 18 years of age, are emancipated and/or married. Therefore it is the right of a parent to know and be informed of any/all medical procedures that are required for that child. | |||

| All government agencies and departments (including assembly and senate), should be required to go to a "Zero" based accounting system and not rely of the previous year's budget as has been the norm. Each budget item should be carefully analyzed and objective decision should be made as to whether the item is truly necessary and/or can be eliminate. Programs/departments should be analyzed/audited periodically to determine if they are working, or not. Those not working as intended should be eliminated and/or reorganized. | |||

| The decision regarding our schools should be left at the local level. It is the parents /community that knows what is best for our children and what we can and can not afford. I would support school choice, which would allow all students especially low income to have access to the best education that Vermont has to offer. School choice would also provide a competitive environment that would require low performing schools to bring up their performance. I look to the community that I represent to tell me what direction they wish to go. My job is to represent them | |||

| According to the CBO, The Census Bureau and the VP Middle Class Task Force Report, approx. 51 million people require assistance in obtaining health care. There should be a program that assists those 51 Million. Those that can afford health care should be allowed to obtain in the most economical manner possible opening the ability to purchase insurance across state lines would go a long way toward reaching that goal. Decisions as to a person's care and needs should be a matter between the physician and patient. | |||
